Update Coming for Tavistock Sewage Pumping Station

A virtual meeting is on the way regarding the William Street Sewage Pumping Station in Tavistock, looking to discuss alternate options, preferred solutions, and more.

TAVISTOCK - Oxford County is hosting a virtual Public Consultation Centre (PCC) to update the community on the William Street Sewage Pumping Station in Tavistock.

The project team members will look to present alternative servicing solutions as well as the preferred solution to support ongoing sanitary servicing needs and anticipated growth to the year 2046.

This comes after Oxford County retained MTE Consultants Inc. to lead the study, with a notice of commencement being issued on March 7 of last year.

The county says any potential impacts of the sewage pumping station upgrade alternatives on social, cultural, economic and natural environments will be evaluated and assessed during the Class EA Study.

Once the study is completed, a report will be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks and made available for public review for a period of 30 days.

The virtual meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 14 and will run from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with materials being posted to the project website following the meeting.

You can also send in feedback and comments on the project and the PCC by email before Monday, May 27, 2024.

Full information on the meeting, the project, as well as where to register and submit feedback can all be found on the Speak Up, Oxford! website.
