1990 Ford Mustang Stolen from TMMC Parking Lot

WPS arrived on scene before the suspects left the parking lot in a stolen Ford Mustang and a stolen Range Rover. Police deployed a spike belt, but the suspects got away.

WOODSTOCK - A 1990 convertible Ford Mustang was stolen from the TMMC parking lot on Dundas Street early Friday morning.

Police were called to the plant just after midnight about two vehicle thefts in progress. Two men and a women in a stolen white Range Rover from Hamilton were attempting to steal the vehicles.

They smashed the window of a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, but were unsuccessful in stealing the vehicle. The suspects then smashed the window of a green 1990 Ford Mustang with a white top, and white leather interior.

Police arrived on scene after the suspects gained access to the Mustang and were able to start it. A spike belt was deployed, but the suspects managed to get away and police did not give chase, according to multiple witnesses who reported the event to Heart FM news.

Woodstock Police are searching for a male suspect wearing blue jeans and a grey sweatshirt. Suspect number 2 is a man wearing a black sweatshirt. The woman is described as wearing dark clothing with dark hair in a bun.

The Woodstock Police Service would like to encourage anyone having information about any new or ongoing investigations to contact the Woodstock Police Service at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The owner of the Mustang Shawn White called into Heart FM to voice his displeasure over how the whole police investigation has gone. A video of the thieves getting away and evading police was shared with Heart FM. White says he has a lead on who has the vehicle, he has a photo of the suspect and the car was spotted on the weekend in Six Nations. He says he has shared this information with police and has not gotten a response.

"A couple of phone calls and an email later, I was very unhappy about that part of it. After speaking with the front desk with Woodstock Police, they said leave another voice mail, so I did, still nothing. I was told to contact Brant OPP and didn't get anywhere there, I was trying to get a hold of Six Nations police, which is where the car was spotted driving on Friday and Saturday."

White says he was sent through the OPP dispatch and did not get anybody who would talk to him, other than a response from the dispatcher to say, "sir, we are looking for your car, is there anything else."

White says he will be making a formal complaint to WPS over how this investigation has been handled.

Heart FM did reach out to WPS for a comment. Special Constable Shaylyn Jackson says this is still an active investigation.

"Investigations take time and we have to pool our resources to make sure we are thorough and make sure we have all of the information. So if people don't hear back from us immediately, we are still doing everything we can to make sure we are looking into every single detail."
