WOODSTOCK - Santa Claus is coming to Woodstock this weekend.

The community can expect to see over 70 floats going down Dundas St this Saturday, starting at 6pm.

Band and Float Coordinator Virginia Armstrong says there will be performances as well, including one from the Ingersoll Pipe Band.

"We're so fortunate to have them every year, they're amazing. And we have Incirque, which is a company that has stilt walkers and they'll partake in the parade again this year."

Other performances will include the Golden Harps Steel Orchestra and the Salvation Army Band, along with the Burlington Teen Tour Band.

She says donations will be accepted too.

"We do our have our collections group that will be at the beginning of the parade collecting donations towards the parade because it is a community parade. We rely on sponsorships and contributions from the public to make this a success every year."

Other features in this year's parade will be the Stuff The Bus campaign. Parade officials will be accepting cash donations for parade costs, food and unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army and Letters to Santa.

Santa's House and Carriage Ride will begin on November 29th, December 6th, 13th and 20th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and carriage rides will go from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm as well.

Armstrong adds Santa's House will come with new renovations this year.

"We're really excited this year because we've given Santa's House a new coat paint and lots of new decor inside and out so it's going to be nice and fresh for Santa this year. And fortunately because of our great sponsorship in the city we also have a new chair for Santa, so come on out and visit the jolly old gent and let him know what you want for Christmas."

The parade will leave the Woodstock Fairgrounds at 6:00 pm and travel west along Dundas Street.
