37 Postcards opens this weekend at Theatre Woodstock and it makes for a perfect date night to celebrate Valentine's Day.

WOODSTOCK - The latest show from Theatre Woodstock will make the perfect date for Valentines Day.

37 postcards opens on Friday night, and runs for two weekends at the theatre. Director Dianne Ingram says the play centres around Avery Sutton, who is played by Mike Crabbe.

"He has been travelling abroad in Europe for 8 years and he his new fiance is insisting that he bring her back home to meet his family and he really doesn't want to go, but she insists and for the first part of the play, he actually regrets going and so does the Fiance, they start wondering if they should really be there. Family is really messy and this one is particularly messy, they were quirky to begin with but now he has come home and they have completely lost their minds as far as he is concerned."

Stage Manager Mark Mullaly says the families house is actually tilted, which is part of a running gag in the show.

"We actually built an entirely new stage floor, that goes from stage level to almost a foot up at the other side, so will be unable to escape the fact that this a very tilted house. The actors had to adjust to working on an angle."

The show promises some great laughs, but it also has some serious moments as well as Avery Sutton must either accept the oddities of his family or leave them behind, in this comedy about eccentric and dysfunctional families.

The shows run on February 14,15, 16*, 20, 21, 22* with show times at 7:30 and the *dates are 2:00 matinees.
