A Trip Down the Aisle and Through Time

Annandale National Historic Site will be showing off 150 years of wedding gowns in the latest exhibit.

TILLSONBURG - Annandale National Historic Site's newest exhibit will have people saying yes to 150 years of dresses.

The Say Yes to the Dress exhibit begins on Sunday (July 30) and will feature a dress from every decade from the 1860s to the 2010s. Curator Patricia Phelps is fascinated by the change in design through the years.

"If you look between say 1910 and 1920 the 20 dress that we have is a short one - its a flapper style gown and a big different from anything that came before it of course."

Phelps adds they are really excited to show off their featured dress for the exhibit.

"And then we have the big one in the centre which is from a 1990's wedding, very inspired by Princess Diana and it actually has a 25 foot train."

The exhibit runs until September 3rd. A special opening will be held at 1 o'clock on Sunday with refreshments.
