Active Death Investigation Near Thamesford

Oxford OPP have launched an active death investigation at the home next to Tulip Gardens near Thamesford.

One person is dead and another was sent to the hospital after shots were fired at a home adjacent to the Tulip Gardens Gardening centre near Thamesford.

Oxford OPP have launched an active death investigation and the forensics unit has been brought in to help investigate. Constable Stacey Culbert says they are not disclosing the injuries or the cause of death at this time. " So shortly after 9 o'clock this morning around 9:10 a.m, OPP members did respond to the scene and one person was found deceased at the scene, we have another party that was transferred to a local area hospital with injuries."

Police are not releasing much information at this time as an investigation is ongoing. The investigation is happening at the home located adjacent to the gardening centre which closed down a couple of years ago. Culbert did say there is no public safety issue as the situation is contained, police said.

A neighbour did stop by and spoke with the assembled media. She told Heart FM the owner of the gardening centre John Kraayenbrink lived in the home with his wife Meis Kraayenbrink and the couple are in their 90's. According to the neighbour they also had a daughter living with them.
