Students looking for summer work are being encouraged to start their job search right away

WOODSTOCK - Within months students will be out of school and it is never too early to start applying for those highly coveted summer jobs.

Operations Manager for Community Employment Services in Woodstock, Julie Matheson does not want you to wait any longer to start the job search.

"It is a good time to start right away. You shouldn't wait till the summertime arrives because people are posting jobs now. I know a lot of students who are on their breaks they should be coming into our office and registering and looking now and getting their resume ready to go."

If your application needs tweaking Matheson and her team on Metcalf Street in the City will assist you.

If employers have positions available in the county they are urged to post them on to workinoxford.ca but if you are having a difficult time finding the right job, Matheson has a few tips for you.

"Be patient. Due not stop job searching. Students need to look everywhere, to be talking to their networks, to their families and friends, checking job boards, and if you can go in person and apply directly that would be the best way to go."

The team at Employment Services are always willing to meet with you in an attempt to find you that perfect summer job.
