Beef Recall

Ground beef recall for meat sold at Loblaw Stores across Canada.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued an alert over another beef product because of possible E. coli contamination.

The federal food safety watchdog is warning the public not to consume uncooked lean ground beef from Belmont Meats of Toronto, distributed at Loblaw stores.

The product is sold in 1.6-kilogram packages with a best-before date of June 1, 2014.

The agency says there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the product and that it`s monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

It`s the fifth recall of a beef product this month over possible E. coli contamination.
