Cab Driver Assault

A pair of teens charged after two cab driver assaults in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK - A pair of assaults on Woodstock cab drivers has landed two teens with charges.

The first assault happened around 11 Sunday evening when the driver was called to pick up a fare on Dundas Street West in Woodstock.  Two teens were picked up and once the cab was stopped at a James Street address, police say one of the teens showed a knife and attempted to rob the cab driver.  That's when the driver exited his cab and yelled for assistance.  The two males then fled the area.

Then around 5 Monday morning a cab was called to pick up a fare on Dundas at Finkle.  The cab arrived and took the teens to Devonshire Avenue. As they were leaving the cab, one of them punched the cab driver causing some minor injury. The cab driver drove from the scene and reported the incident.

Woodstock Police have charged a seventeen year old and a sixteen year old youth with several charges including robbery, assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, disguise with intent and breach of probation.
