Woodstock's Got Talent, plenty of musical acts, and a massive fireworks display will mark Canada Day in Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock is set to host their annual Canada Day celebration in Southside Park.

All of the fun will take place between the east and west ball diamonds with lots of entertainment, kids activities, and a beverage garden.

The festivities will begin at 2 p.m. with Woodstock's Got Talent which will include 22 local performers. The talent show will be followed by Rob and the Rydells, the Fire Guy, the Woodstock Taekwon-Do Club, the Ontario Newtel Singers, and Shania Alive.

The entertainment should wrap up at around 9:45 p.m. Manager of Communications and Special Events Brad Janssen says an amazing fireworks display will light up the sky afterwards.

"Fire works of this magnitude are $1,000 a minute! It's not your variety store type fireworks - we fill the sky. It's going to be a tremendous show and we are looking forward to it."

The fireworks display will last for 20 to 25 minutes. Janssen adds the entire south end of the park will be cleared out after 7 p.m. in order to prepare for the big show.

"We'll have police auxiliary monitoring that area with golf carts just to make sure there is no pedestrian traffic because if there is one person in that part of the park we can't let the fireworks go."

The city will post event updates and parking information on their website and Facebook page.

Heart FM announcers will be on site to help keep the party going all day long on July 1st.
