Residents against the landfill deliver 12,600+ letters to Ernie Hardeman

More than 12,600 resident letters are on their way to Queen's Park.

Several Oxford residents against a proposed dump in Beachville delivered the letters to MPP Ernie Hardeman's office on Perry Street this afternoon.

"We will put all of the letters in my truck and I set up a meeting with the Minister of the Environment Monday morning and we will be presenting them all to the Minister Monday just before Question Period."

"I got into politics in opposition to our landfill site which is about a mile and a half from my place and I haven't changed my position. I don't want more landfill sites. I think we should be looking at alternatives to waste disposal but there is a process in place that the people have a right to follow."

Hardeman hopes to bring up the letters to other provincial members during Question Period Monday.
