Chain Reaction Collision on 401

A man and a woman sustained minor injuries after their car hit the trailer of a transport truck late Sunday morning.

Two people sustained minor injuries after a chain reaction collision occurred on the westbound 401 near the Highway 59 Norwich Ave exit.

Reports suggest the collision was ignited by a quick lane change from a pick up truck late yesterday morning, which caused a car to swerve into the middle lane. Oxford OPP say the car then lost control, entered the third lane and hit the trailer of a transport truck. The car and the transport then came to a stop, blocking all lanes of traffic.

Officers say the pick up truck, described as a dark black or brown Chevy Silverado or Colorado did not stop at the scene and continued heading westbound.

The male driver and female passenger inside the car were transported to hospital and the transport truck driver was not injured.
