Christmas Place Needs Donations

Volunteers at the Christmas Place are still accepting donations at College Ave United Church.

WOODSTOCK - There's still time to donate to Operation Sharing's Christmas Place.

Over the past 35 years, the program has helped impoverished families purchase donated gifts for their loved ones.

Director Kathy Gilverson says they will be helping lots of people this holiday season.

"Now we are also partnered with CAS (Children's Aid Society) Angel Tree this year and Power of Hope who gives out pyjama packages and such. That means our numbers are probably going to increase."

Gilverson says there have been a couple of times where clients have come back as volunteers throughout the years.

"Many of those folks because of what they've received in their hard times, they've come back and donated or volunteered with our organization even after that."

The tween age is often overlooked, donations for the 10-13 ages are encouraged.  Donations can be dropped off at College Ave United Church between 9am and 9pm from Monday to Friday. They will no longer be accepted starting December 6th, when their shopping days begin.
