Community Input

Residents with comments and suggestions on the Town of Ingersoll's strategic plan, are being asked to fill out a new online survey.

INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll has released a survey in hopes of getting help with potential strategic priorities for the current term of Council.

Chief Administrative Officer William Tigert says "the Town has a fairly current strategic plan but with the election just passed in November, we are looking at setting some strategic goals for this term of council. Part of that process will be getting some input from our residents themselves on what the priorities should be for the town going forward."

Tigert says it's very important residents have their voices heard.

"Council was very strong on that point that they are the elected representatives of the people, so setting the priorities without that input would be not advantageous. They need to know what the community wants so they can set the resources in motion to see they are delivered."

Tigert says a facilitator met with council and tried to flesh out a number of priorities to focus on over the next four years.

Tigert says the meeting will allow people who have not had an opportunity to comment can come and present other ideas.

Afterwards, he says staff will take a look at the comments and compile them into a package for council to approve.

The survey can be found here until March 16.
