The TVDSB TERT team on the scene at Emily Stowe Public School Monday

NORWICH - Staff at Emily Stowe Public School in Norwich are sending their thoughts and prayers to the family of Abbygale Fleet.

The 11 year old girl was killed in a head-on collision Saturday afternoon on Norwich Road between Middletown Line and County Road 13 after a westbound car lost control and collided with the westbound SUV Fleet was travelling in.

Principal Lisa Munro says condolences are being sent to Abbygale's family at this difficult time and help is being offered to those who need it. "Members of the school board's Tramatic Events Response Team, our TERT team are in the school today to support staff and students at this difficult time."

"We're fortunate that we are blessed with a very supportive school community but as you can expect, different staff and students have different reaction," continued Munro. "Abbygale will be remembered as a very kind, caring person. She was a leader amoungst her peers and she'll be truely missed by everybody."

Munro says it's too early to say if the school will host a memorial for the girl.

It was less than a year ago when the school said goodbye to 9 year old Ainsley Swance in May of 2014 following a collision between a Terra-Gator sprayer and car on Main Street. Swance was also a student at the school.
