Contract Extension for Try Recycling Inc

Try Recycling Inc will be working to keep construction and demolition materials out of the Salford landfill.

Oxford County council has approved a 5 year contract extension with Try Recycling Inc out of London.

They will be tasked with diverting construction and demolition materials at the Waste Management Management Facility in Salford. Warden David Mayberry tells Heart FM the service helps to reduce the amount of construction waste at our land fill site.

"Try recycling has come up with a price and it is $73 or $74 dollars a tonne and they will take it and process it all, recover as much of the material as they possibly can from it to reduce the amount of material that will eventually go to the landfill."

The service also makes a positive contribution to Oxford County's Zero Waste Plan.

"We think it is going to be important to have this in place as we work on our other zero waste initiatives, that one we have kind of taken care of, will it be the ultimate solution or will be need that demolition material in our ultimate solution for waste in Oxford? I'm not sure, but for the next five years, it will probably take us that long to come up with all of our solutions and it may be the solution we use in the future."
