Cut Back on Outdoor Water Use

County of Oxford Public Works is asking you to cut back on outdoor water use as municipal water reserves begin to show signs of strain from our recent hot, dry weather. Local conservation authorities want the municipal system to reduce water takings by 20%. Public Works is asking all residents to cut back on outdoor water use to once per week according to the last digit of your municipal street address: 0 or 1 - outside water use allowed on Mondays 2 or 3 - outside water use allowed on Tuesdays 4 or 5 - outside water use allowed on Wednesdays 6 or 7 - outside water use allowed on Thursdays 8 or 9 - outside water use allowed on Fridays These are all between the hours of 6 and 9 in the morning and evening. This year for the first time you can track the status of your communities water systems online as either green, yellow, or red. Green showing typical water usage within system capacity, while red shows that the increased usage is placing a strain on the system. You can view this online at www.oxfordcounty.ca/howmuch
