The Small Business Centre in Woodstock announced that Michelle Romonow will be the guest speaker that their Bridges to Better business event in October.

WOODSTOCK - The Small Business Centre in Woodstock had their grand re-opening yesterday.

Manager Ramona Gallagher says the big highlight was announcing their guest speaker for the Bridges to Better Business event happening on October 30th at Craigowan Golf Course.

"I can now officially share it, our guest speaker will be Michelle Romanow, she is probably best known as being a Dragon on the CBC show the Dragons' Den. She is also the President and Founder of Clear Bank.

Gallagher says Romonow will share her story at the event and offer insights on how to build your business.

"She is going to be here to speak with everyone about incentivizing and change and just being able to talk about her experiences as an entrepreneur, starting out at Queens University and where she is today."

Gallagher notes that this is one of the premier millennial entrepreneurs in Canada.

"She is considered to be one of the top millennial entrepreneurs internationally, we are so privileged and honoured to be able to host her in Oxford County. This is probably one of the only speaking engagements that she has done for a small business centre."

Romonow is a self made millionaire, she is a role model for so many young Canadians.

Gallagher made the announcement at their grand re-opening yesterday. She explains why they wanted to rebrand the Small Business Centre.

"We were formally the Woodstock and area, Small Business Enterprise Centre, we have rebranded to signify that we are all encompassing for Oxford County. We want people to come to the Centre and see what is new and what we are doing for the County, for small business owners. I took over as Manager in October and totally gutted the Centre and we are starting it from scratch with my small business consultant Shawn McNamara."

Gallagher says the Small Business Centre offers a number of free resources including one on one counselling and workshops.

"We have workshops, we have one on one business consultations, it is for people who are thinking about starting a business, people who are in the process of starting a business and also right now, and this a big focus for us because people don't realize this, we also work with current business owners, who may need a second set of eyes on their business and need someone to talk to."
