Fire Ban Continues for Brant County.

Low participation means a continued fire ban for Brant.

BRANT COUNTY - A fire ban remains in effect for Brant County.

Fire Chief Michael Seth says the ban remains due to the lack or rain.

"The rain that we received was not adequate to lift the ban. Staff are continuing to monitor the forecast and rainfall and we will update the public on any changes."

All open-air fires are prohibited including those who have an open-air burn permit, agricultural burns, brush pile burns, campfires, burn barrels, open fireplace/chimneys or any other fires set in open-air.

Certain equipment such as portable gas or propane stoves are permitted assuming you keep them at least three meters away from buildings and flammable objects.

Please exercise extreme caution during a fire ban.

The fire department will continue to monitor the forecasts to see when they can lift the ban.

UPDATE (July 24th @ 10:46 a.m.) - The fire ban in Brant County has been called off.
