Fire Code Violations

Woodstock home owner slapped with 3 fire code violations

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Fire Department is reminding home owners they must have working smoke alarms on every level of their home after three fire code violations were handed out.

They stemmed from a fire on Lancaster Street back in July.

That's when firefighters noticed the house was not equipped with the proper number of smoke alarms.

The fire department laid three charges which included 2 counts of failure to ensure a smoke alarm was installed on each storey and one count of failure to ensure a smoke alarm was maintained in operating condition against Nicola Lalli.

Lalli pleaded guilty to all charges in court October 30 and was fined $2250 plus court costs and a victim surcharge totalling just over 28 hundred dollars.
