The P-C's have surfed a big blue wave and swept into power in Ontario, ending 15 years of Liberal government.

PROVINCE WIDE - Ontario has given the province's Progressive Conservative party a majority, ousting the rival Liberals after 15 years in power.

P-C leader Doug Ford, the brother of Toronto's infamous former Mayor Rob Ford, will take over as premier from Liberal leader Kathleen Wynne.

Wynne held on to her Toronto-based seat, but her party's presence in the legislature all but vanished, leading to the party losing its official status and Wynne to announce that she's stepping down as party leader.

The New Democrats had a decent showing and have moved into the position of official opposition.
