Heavy Rain Could Fall Again

Toronto and its suburbs spent the day mopping up after a record-smashing night of pounding rain and driving wind. Flash floods set cars afloat, stranded rail commuters and caused widespread power outages in the region and set a record for the wettest day in the city's history. Environment Canada senior climatologist David Philips says two separate storm cells moved over the city at the same time, and then stalled over Toronto for hours. There's another special weather statement out, warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms that could hit anywhere in southern Ontario again tonight.
