Iron Grill Sentence

One man involved gets 2 years less a day

WOODSTOCK - It's a sentence of two years less a day for one of the men involved in the Iron Grill explosion.

Arun Rajendiran entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to commit arson back in June, just days before his jury trial was to begin.

This morning, Rajendiran received his sentence through joint submission by the Crown and defence which also includes two years of probation.

Back in June, his lawyers told the court that he did plan to set the Dundas Street restaurant on fire in August of 2009 in order to collect $5000 in insurance money but was cut from the deal just days before.
