Kent for Council

19 year old Jordan Kent files papers to run for council in Blandford Blenheim

Another name has been added to the ballot in Blandford Blenheim.

19 year old Drumbo resident Jordan Kent filed his papers for council Friday morning.

Kent says the need for a new voice, approach and direction for Blandford Blenheim is one of the reasons he decided to run.

"I'm very concerned about the future of Blandford Blenheim. At the moment, there are sky rocketing water prices, higher than Woodstock, Tillsonburg, Ingersoll and that needs to be brought under control. Unfortunately current council has continued to raise the price on our water and taxes and it's driving businesses and family's away."

Kent says he will run his campaign differently than others.

"I want to be able to bring a new layer of transparency, accountability, openness, honesty. I want to be able to put the people first for a change because I truly believe people's interest are best served when candidates that are elected to office are not in it for personal reasons, they're in it for personal reasons, they are in it to help the people at large."

"I intend to make sure that when I talk to the voters, I am getting their ideas to bring them to council so it's not my ideas as a whole. I'm going to pick my issues. Of course water prices are going to be one of them."

Kent owns the holiday store Yule Love It Christmas and Gifts which he operates out of the St Jacobs Market.
