Level 2 Low Water Condition

Residents of Blandford-Blenheim Township are being asked to increase their water conservation efforts.

BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - A level 2 low water condition has been issued for Blandford-Blenheim Township.

Residents are asked to cut back on their outdoor water use by at least 20 percent. Manager of Public Works Robert Walton tells Heart FM there are all kinds of ways you can cut back on your water.

"What we are primarily asking people to do is cut down on external water use, so not watering lawns, not washing your driveway, not washing your car, use small amounts of water to water those plants in your garden that need water to stay alive, things like lawns they will come back once the weather changes in September, cooler nights and hopefully more precipitation."

The hot and dry conditions this summer is the reason for the level 2 water condition and things could get worse if we don't get some rain over the next month. The entire Grand River Conservation Area is under a level water condition right now.
