McClintic: Rafferty Wanted to Abduct a

Today's testimony from Terri-Lynne McClintic included the revelation that Rafferty had been staking out areas of the city with an interest to abduct "a single mother". Pictures were shown in court of the Trillium Housing Complex on Parkinson Road, where Tara McDonald and Tori Stafford co-incidentally lived just days before Tori's abduction. Heart FM spoke with some of the residents of that complex today. Ruth, who didn't want her last name used on the air, said the news was "Scary...very scary." Ruth has lived at Trillium for several years, dating back to April 2008 when Tori Stafford went missing. Ever since then, Ruth says the whole housing complex has been looking out for each other. "I have a lot of people watching my daughter now. Like, if I go to work, they're watching to make sure she gets on the bus alright." Kim Clarke is the President of the Housing Board says she felt "sick" hearing the news. "To think that they know the layout of our homes and everything...and they could actually do something like that...take somebody's kid and were planning on doing it. That just really upsets me." Clarke says about a third of the tenants in the housing co-op are single mothers.
