Name Oxford County Library’s New Mobile Outreach Vehicle

Oxford County Library has launched a new contest to name the brand new Mobile Outreach Vehicle that will be out this Spring.

OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Library will be hitting the road this Spring with a new mobile outreach pilot project.

The mobile outreach vehicle will offer computer access and free online resources; workshops and demonstrations, like robotics and e-learning; and, of course, books, when it rolls out to fairs and festivals, parks, pools, seniors’ residences and more between May and August this year. The pilot project will test the feasibility and interest in bringing Oxford County Library’s many resources to people who cannot always access their local library, for instance, because of a lack of transportation options or the ability to visit during regular operating hours.

CEO Chief Librarian Lisa Miettinen says they are looking for the public's help to find a name for the project.

"And we kind of took the lead from the Fraser Valley Public Library System, which had a public competition to name their mobile outreach vehicle a few years ago."

If your suggestion is chosen, you'll win a $30 gift certificate towards a stop of your choice on the Oxford County Cheese Trail, featuring award-winning cheese producers, restaurants and attractions.

You can enter the contest online here and it closes at midnight on Sunday April 7, 2019.
