A man from Stratford is facing multiple charges including theft of a vehicle and more suspicious goings-on in Waterford.

SOUTH BRUCE - A man from Stratford is facing some heavy charges after an OPP officer in South Bruce pulled him over.

The officer stopped the green Pontiac Grand Prix in Lucknow on Monday morning around 11 a.m. During the stop, the officer discovered the driver was not licensed and the vehicle had been reported as stolen.

26 year old Scott Poynton of Stratford is charged with driving while disqualified, theft of a motor vehicle, 3 counts of possession of stolen property, 2 counts of possession of a weapon, 2 counts of driver possessing a weapon, breaching probation, driving while suspended, unauthorized licence plate, defaced licence plate, defaced validation, driving without a permit, possessing a licence while prohibited, and failing to produce proof of insurance.



NORFOLK - Police are looking for information after a concerned resident reported a suspicious man.

Officers were called out to Temperance Street in Waterford just before noon on Monday. They determined a man had gone to the home on Friday morning and knocked on the windows and doors, scaring the person inside at the time.

The man did not enter the home, and police urge everyone to keep their eyes peeled for any suspicious behaviour.
