OPP Briefs include a break and enter in Norfolk County, a woman facing assault charges in Norfolk County, a multi-vehicle crash in Perth County and a stolen SUV in Norfolk County.

NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk County OPP are investigating a break and enter in Norfolk County.

The incident occurred just after 8:00am on February 7th after unknown suspects broke into a local business and attempted to break into a cash dispensing machine, causing $4,000.00 in damage. No money was taken.

The investigation is ongoing. If anyone has more information on the incident, contact Norfolk OPP.

NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk County OPP have charged a 32-year-old woman from Norfolk County after a resident contacted police reporting an assault.

The incident occured on February 6th around 5:00pm on Stanley Street after the woman was involved in altercation with three men inside the home, before it escalated into a physical confrontation involving an edged weapon.

Police charged 32-year-old Natasha LaPointe with multiple charges including assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.

She is scheduled to appear in a Simcoe court at a later date.

NORTH PERTH - Perth County OPP, EMS and the North Perth Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle collision 

The collision happened on February 8th at 2:45pm, east of Donegal on Perth Line 72. 

A sports car was travelling eastbound when it collided head on with a pickup truck. 

Four other vehicles were involved in the collision, including a school bus loaded carrying students from a local high school.

The sports car was carrying three children, ages one, three, and four and they were taken to a nearby hospital where they remain in stable condition. Their injuries are considered non-life threatening.

The driver of the pickup truck was also transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. None of the students on the school bus were injured.

The road has since been reopened.

NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk County OPP are investigating a vehicle theft after they received a call from the vehicle owner on February 8, just after 6:30pm.

Unknown suspects stole the SUV from the parking lot the day before between the hours of 10:00am and 6:30pm. The vehicle is a grey coloured 2001 Chevrolet Suburban with a scratch under the driver's side mirror and on the quarter panel. The vehicle also had jeweller's tools in the back seat.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking for help from the public. If anyone has more information, you are asked to call Norfolk OPP.
