Briefs include a farm worker who seriously injured their hand in Norwich, 17 year old charged with careless driving after hitting a hydro pole, EMS uniform stolen from a car in Ingersoll and much, much more.

NORWICH TOWNSHIP - A farm worker was rushed to the hospital in London after an accident in Norwich Township on Saturday afternoon.

Police say the worker was cleaning straw from a spreader when their hand was injured. As a result, the worker suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a London area hospital for further treatment.

The Ministry of Labour have been contacted and will be following up with the investigation.

SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - A 17 year old has been charged with careless driving after crashing into a hydro pole in South-West Oxford.

Police say the crash happened on Sunday morning just after 2. It has been determined that a 17-year-old driver from Oxford County, Ontario was travelling southbound on Wallace Line and was approaching Robinson Road when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch and collided with a hydro pole.


INGERSOLL - Oxford OPP are investigating after an EMS uniform was stolen from a vehicle on Cherry Street in Ingersoll.

Police say the theft happened on Sunday morning around 10:15. Stolen from the vehicle was a bag that contained gloves, masks, pager and a Toronto paramedic uniform.

Members of the Oxford County OPP are continuing to investigate and are seeking the public's assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact the Oxford County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

WOODSTOCK - Several credit cards were stolen from a car on Balsam Street in East-Zorra Tavistock last Wednesday.

The thief used the cards at various businesses in Woodstock on Saturday.

OXFORD COUNTY - A 21 year old from Brant County has been charged with stunt driving.

Police say they clocked the young person doing over 130 km/h on Highway 59 in Norwich Township Saturday, just after midnight.

They were charged with racing, having an open container of liquor and a young driver having a blood alcohol concentration above 0. 

There vehicle was towed from the scene and the licence was suspended.

BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Oxford OPP are investigating a break and enter on Township Road 3 in Blandford-Blenheim.

Force was used to get inside the building. Stolen was a quantity of wires and hardware made of copper. The items consisted of large gauge power conductor cables and copper bus bars. The theft is valued at approximately $5,000.

TILLSONBURG - A 52 year old person from Bayham was arrested in Tillsonburg on charges of shoplifting. 

Police say the person stole a number of items from a business on Broadway Street on Saturday afternoon.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Woodstock at a later date.
