Oxford Taking a Closer Look at Their Master Aging Plan

Transportation, health care, housing, recreation, and life long education are the main areas of need in the Oxford Master Aging Plan. Those needs were recognized after hearing seniors' opinions from around the county at multiple meetings. Steering Committee Chair Bob McFarland says they were pleasantly surprised by one area of feedback at the meetings. "Many people are interested in the idea of helping other people. So younger/older adults are keenly aware there are people in some level of need living in their community and a lot of people who are doing that are actually younger/older adults." The committee is taking the aging plan to various council meetings across Oxford aiming to get acknowledgement and support when issues arise. A positive response was received when they stopped at Woodstock Council Thursday.
