Police Officer Emotional on the Stand

A Woodstock Police officer says overwhelmed officers did the best they could to try to find eight-year-old Tori Stafford after she disappeared. Detective Constable Sean Kelly (Pictured here leaving court house with Woodstock Police Chief Rod Freeman)recapped the disturbing details surrounding the disappearance of 8-year-old Tori Stafford the day she disappeared in April of 2009 and the many days that followed. As Kelly explained to the jury his first tasks/duties in the infancy of the investigation. Kelly broke down in tears as he explained by May 19th he was no longer investigating an abduction of Stafford, but a homicide. Kelly told the jury officers worked up to 20 hours a day for six weeks and it was hard to accept when then-18-year-old Terri-Lynne McClintic confessed Tori was dead. The Father of Tori Stafford, Rodney, spoke to the media once again on the door steps of the London Courthouse following Kelly?s testimony and expressed his empathy. "It hurt. It really hurt because it just goes to prove these officers...these guys are human too. It's affected a lot of these officers in ways people couldn't imagine. It really hurt to see him crying." The trial will resume on Tuesday with 21-year-old Terri-Lynn McClintic next on the witness stand to testify. A full recap of today's testimony and trial summary can be found here.
