Princeton Wastewater Service Put on Hold

County Council has elected not the move forward with the Princeton wastewater service plans.

PRINCETON - Oxford County Council has decided that a potential wastewater service for Princeton will be too expensive.

Council to turn down the proposal for the service due to the cost of the project and the lack of need.

Warden David Mayberry says County staff did their due diligence before making their recommendation.

"As the County did a study through plannings, through public health and through public works, they determined that there was no need to service the village of Princeton."

He adds there is still hope for the service.

"Council decided that, no they weren't going to just close it out, but they wanted to refer it back to the Township of Blandford-Blenheim to see if they have an alternate solution that they wanted council to consider before we close it out permanently."

The Township of Blandford-Blenheim will now have some time to think of a new route to take for the project before the door is shut by council.
