Rainfall Warning

Flood pants could be necessary as the region will get hit with 45-55 mm of rain over the next two days.

A rainfall warning has been issued for Oxford County.

Environment Canada has issued the warning for most of South Western Ontario as heavy rain is expected to flood the region. In Oxford County it is estimated we will see the rain start later tonight and continue into Wednesday. Early estimates suggest we could get anywhere from 45 to 55 millimetres.

Hazards may include power outages due to heavy downpours causing tree limbs to fall on power lines. Water pooling on roads may result from heavy downpours or debris blocking drains. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

The City of Woodstock is also advising residents to check the drains and downspouts in your area and make sure they are clear.
