Registration Open for Tree Planting Workshop

A tree planting workshop in Oxford Centre will take a close look local resources, woodlot managements and Oxford County's heritage study.

OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County's Conservation Authorities are hosting a tree planting workshop for farmers and rural land owners.

They're going talking about available resources, woodlot managements, and Oxford County's heritage study.

Forestry Specialist at the Grand River Conservation Authority, Jessica Robins on the benefits of tree planting.

"So planting windbreaks along the property boundaries or even some trees along the road sides will help reduce some of the snow drifting in the winter and also reduce wind erosion that could cause soil loss on farms."

Robins encourages people to come out.

"We're just hoping to get as many people out because we've got some really great speakers at the work shop. It's a combination of all three conservation authorities that are in Oxford County and we just hope we can provide information that's helpful to landowners."

This is a free event and will be November 28th, between 6:30pm and 8:30pm at the Oxford Centre Community Hall.

You can register online here.
