Resolved Cases More Than Triple New Cases Today in SWPH Region

The active case count has dropped to 170 in the SWPH region after 13 new cases were confirmed this morning and 46 resolved cases.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health Unit confirmed 13 new cases of COVID-19 this morning and 46 resolved cases. 

This brings our total number of ongoing cases to 170. You can find a complete breakdown of the numbers, based on location here.

East-Zorra Tavistock - 6

Blandford-Blenheim - 5

West Elgin - 1 

Twelve people are currently being treated for the virus in hospital, including three people in the ICU. 

The Health Unit says 84.9 percent of residents 12+ have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 82.6 percent have been fully vaccinated. The Health Unit is also dealing with two outbreaks at the Aylmer Retirement residence and Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas.
