Robinson Gets New Trial

James Douglas Robinson was originally convicted back in 2012 for the first degree murder in the death of Clifford Fair.

WOODSTOCK - A Woodstock man who was sentenced to life in prison after a brutal murder in 2008 will be getting another trial.

James Douglas Robinson was originally convicted back in 2012 for the first degree murder in the death of Clifford Fair. His conviction has been overturned by Ontario's highest court and a new trial has been ordered on a charge of second degree murder.

The change in charges relates to the nature of the murder.

Fair was killed with a metal pipe and court's decision looks at whether or not the murder had been planned in advance.

Robinson will have his day in court on April 16th and his trial is expected to last for two weeks.
