See Snow Go Slow

OPP are asking people to stay home if they can and avoid travelling on our roadways today after responding to several collisions this morning.

OXFORD COUNTY - The OPP and Woodstock Police are reminding everyone when you see snow, go slow.

Police are asking people to stay home if they can and avoid travelling on our roadways this morning. Already today officers have responded to several collisions in the region. Most of the collisions are happening because people are driving too fast for the conditions. Constable Ed Sanchuk says they just want everyone to be safe so they can make it home to their families today.

"Early this morning, I pulled a vehicle over on Highway 24, passing 10 vehicles this morning. You know what, you're going to end up in a ditch, you're going to end up in a collision and you're going to cause serious injuries to yourself or someone else on our roadways."

Sanchuk says everyone needs to take the necessary precautions if you are venturing out in this storm.

"Please clear off your windshield, make sure the view is clear, we are responding to collisions that don't need to be happening, all of the collisions today are speed related, take your foot off the gas pedal, make sure you make it home tonight so you can be with your family members."
