Social Gatherings Are Limited For Thanksgiving This Year Due To COVID-19

Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock says to keep family gatherings small and remember to continue to wash your hands and wear a face covering.

OXFORD COUNTY - Families are going to be discouraged from getting together for Thanksgiving this year.

Social gatherings are currently limited to 10 people or less indoors. Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock offers this advice if you do spend time with family for the holiday.

"We do need to try and keep our family gatherings small, stick to our small social bubble and even then, remember to wash your hands, limit the amount of people and wear a face covering."

Dr. Lock says you should even consider wearing a face covering indoors if you do have a Thanksgiving dinner.

"I would even consider if you are going to have visitors in your home to to wear a face mask indoors and keep the chairs far apart to do our best."

Another suggestion is to keep the windows open for ventilation and even if it's in your bubble to stay six feet apart at all times.
