Soup's On!

Ody's Chef Will McNamara holds the "Golden Ladle Award", SoupStock 2012 winner, alongside 2011 winner Chef Eric Boyer of 639, and DASO's Barb Wright.

Back by popular demand, tickets are on sale for 3rd annual SoupStock. May the best soup win!

It's a heart warming, and belly warming event for a good cause.

Soupstock is back for a 3rd year, in support of Domestic Abuse Services Oxford.

The event invites local restaurants and catering companies to produce their best signature soups for the public to sample.

Event Coordinator, Barb Wright invites public to purchase tickets for the event at the Quality Hotel & Suites on November 12th and sample the best that Oxford County has to offer.  "It's a wonderful event.  It's tasty, it's heartwarming, it's fun.  People get to taste these different soups, they're always delicious, and then vote for their favourites."

The chefs will be vying for the coveted "Golden Ladle Award", which is decided by a judging panel, which includes the winner from the previous year.

The public votes for their favourite soups decide the "People's Choice Award".

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Woodstock's Scotiabank locations, who will match ticket sales at their branches for DASO.  Wright says it's a "wonderful" gesture by Scotiabank at a needed time of the year.  "Just as important (as the soup) this is one of the most important fundraisers for DASO.  We are raising money just prior to the busy Christmas season, so it's a win for everybody.  It's a win for us, it's a win for the restaurants, and it's a win for all the participants."

The event runs Tuesday, November 12th from 11:30AM - 2PM.  Heart FM will be broadcasting live on location.
