Stair Climb Raises Over $50,000

For the first time ever WCI takes home the top prize at the Annual United Way Stair Climb.

WOODSTOCK - A record setting year for the United Way Stairclimb in Woodstock this morning raising over $50,000.

Over 1,500 students from all over Oxford County came together to reach that total, and to cheer on their respected schools. With WCI finally beating out the 14 year winning streak held by IDCI. With the stair climb increasing in popularity from when it started next years totals should continue to rise. Mike Crabbe is the Resource Developer at the United Way and says that students were also surprised with who came out on top.

"IDCI has been the highest raising school for 14 years straight and for our 15th year we finally have a new winner which is WCI raising $17,873."

Crabbe also added that the volume in the complex was the loudest the event has ever been.

"We thankfully had enough earplugs because there was certainly a lot of school spirit shown by each school with a great turnout. With a 100 more students then we had last year."
