SWPH Confirms 24 New Cases of COVID-19 This Morning

The Health Unit also confirmed the 2nd COVID-19 related death in our region this week. The deceased is a woman in her 70's from Oxford County.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health confirmed 24 new cases of COVID-19 this morning and 11 recoveries. 

The Health Unit also confirmed the 89th COVID-19 related death in our region this morning and the second death this week. The deceased is a woman in her 70's from Oxford County. 

This brings our total number of ongoing cases to 92 and you can find the complete breakdown below:

Woodstock - 12

Norwich Township - 10

South-West Oxford - 4

Ingersoll - 4

East Zorra-Tavistock - 3

Zorra - 1

Aylmer - 14

Bayham - 14

St. Thomas - 11

West Elgin - 4

Dutton-Dunwich - 2

Malahide - 2

Three people are currently being treated for the virus in hospital. An outbreak has been declared at Elgin Manor in St. Thomas after two residents and two staff members tested positive for COVID-19. 

The Health Unit says 86.2 percent of eligible residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 81.9 percent have been fully vaccinated.
