Tavistock Braves Don Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

The Tavistock Braves have plenty of fundraisers and a special ceremony for tonight's Breast Cancer Awareness game.

TAVISTOCK - Expect to see a sea of pink at the Tavistock Braves home game against the Woodstock Navy Vets tonight.

Head Coach and General Manager Jamie Petrie tells Heart FM they are doing a big fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and things will start with a special ceremony before the game.

"Jordan Ritsma's mother is a recovering breast cancer survivor and our assistant coach Don Grasby's mother is going through breast cancer treatment right now so we are going to honour those two ladies with a special ceremony before the game."

Petrie says they will be auctioning of the special game worn pink jerseys after the game and have a number of other events and promotions geared towards Breast Cancer Awareness.

"We will be wearing pink jerseys and we will be auctioning them off, were going to have pink cupcakes, our 50/50 tickets will towards breast cancer, we are doing wings and portion of that will be going towards the cause as well, so we have a number of things happening before, during and after the game in honour of breast cancer awareness."

Puck drops at 7:30 with the auction happening afterwards.
