Three Dead, Over 140 Injured in Boston Marathon Blasts

Federal authorities are looking for suspects and a motive in Monday's bombings that killed three people and injured more than 140 at the Boston Marathon finish line. The two bombs left the crowded streets full of dazed, bloody victims and raised concerns that terrorists had struck again on U.S. soil. One of the three killed Monday was an 8 year-old boy. President Barack Obama says those responsible will feel ``the full weight of justice.'' A senior U.S. intelligence official tells The Associated Press that as many as two unexploded bombs were found near the end of the course as part of what appeared to be a well-co-ordinated attack. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the continuing investigation. The Pakistani Taliban, meanwhile, denied any role in the bombings. Law enforcement officers are reported to have searched an apartment that may be connected to the twin bombings. Massachusetts State Police will only say that a search warrant related to the investigation has been served in the Boston suburb of Revere. Prime Minister Stephen Harper has offered his thoughts and prayers to the victims of the Boston explosions. About two-thousand Canadians were registered for the Boston Marathon, and Foreign Affairs officials say they continue to check to make sure no Canadians were directly caught in the blasts. Rob Watson of London finished 11th in the men's race and says it was a chaotic scene with widespread panic in the athletes' area.
