Tillsonburg Lands Lebcorp, 75 New Jobs

75 new manufacturing jobs are coming to Tillsonburg. The town has just announced a deal with Quebec-based Lebcorp, which manufactures engineered wood products. They'll be taking over and renovating an existing building at 10 Rouse Street (seen right), which should be ready for production by March 2013. Tillsonburg CEO Kelly Coulter says it's been a deal in the making for sometime. "We've been in dialog with this particular corporation for a period of time and they chose us, which is wonderful. We were in competition with other communities and we separated ourselves." When contacted, Lebco's CEO Bruno Lebel said he wasn't yet ready to answer questions about the expansion. However, he is quoted in a media release from the town: ?Builders want building products that make the process of building easier, faster and more profitable,? says Bruno Lebel, Lebco?s President and CEO. ?Unlike traditional framing lumber, our engineered wood products are manufactured under climate-controlled conditions. As a result, the potential for splitting, warping, shrinking, bowing and twisting is eliminated.? ?We really take pride in providing our customers with premium quality products,? says Mr. Lebel. ?And we?re looking forward to continuing that tradition from this new location in southwestern Ontario.? This will be Lebcorp's first facility in Ontario. We'll have more details on hiring, when they're available.
