A Drumbo man was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a collision involving two transport trucks

TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST - A Drumbo man was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a collision between two transport trucks on Perth Line 26 east of Road 111.

It happened around 9:20 Tuesday morning when OPP say an east bound International truck without a trailer crossed over into the west bound lane of Perth Line 26, and struck a west bound Freightliner tractor trailer.  As the trucks sideswiped each other both cabs sustained damage.

The driver of the Freightliner, a 46 year old male from Drumbo was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.  The 50 year old driver of the International truck a Guelph resident was uninjured.  He has however been charged with the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario offence of; “fail to share half roadway – meeting vehicle”.

After colliding, the International truck drove into the south ditch.  The International truck upon being towed out of the ditch was able to be driven away from the scene.  The Freightliner truck and the empty trailer sustained more extensive damage and required to be towed from the scene.
