Verdict Expected in March

Day three into an assault charge laid following a hockey game has wrapped in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK - A Brantford 99er player will have to wait until the end of March to learn whether or not he will be found guilty in the January 2013 incident that involved a Woodstock Navy Vets Player Nick Major.

The Brantford player -- who cannot be named as he was a young at the time -- sat through the trial Friday morning as a video played of Major skating down the ice "snowing" the goalie. The accused allegedly proceeded to unleash built up anger by assaulting Major with anywhere from 8-11 blows to the face.

After both sides brought the cases forward it was Major's lawyer who states that while he didn't condone the snowing of the goalie, it was also not okay for the accused to inflict more and more punches.

The accused was even quoted with saying that he went to far.

March 25th is when the verdict will be announced.
