Norfolk OPP have some tips for parents who are planning on taking their kids to Waterford Pumpkinfest this weekend.

NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk OPP are reminding families attending Pumpkinfest in Waterford this weekend to keep an eye on the little ones.

Police want to take this opportunity to have parents talk about safety with their kids. They have tips for parents heading to the festival this weekend;

- Teach your kids to keep calm and to stay one location if they were to ever get separated.
- Set a meeting location if you ever get separated.
- Make sure your kid knows they can approach a firefighter, police officer, or paramedic of there was ever an emergency.
- Always be aware of your child's location and what they're doing. Making sure you don't get split up.
- Dress your kids in bright clothing to make sure they're easy to spot.

OPP want all families to have a fun filled afternoon along with keeping everyone safe at Pumpkinfest.

If you witness any suspicious activity while out this weekend, make sure you contact Norfolk OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122.
