Woodstock Police Briefs - Thursday September 9th

Woodstock Police briefs include an assault in a Blossom Park apartment, a case of vandalism in Brompton Park and an attempted vehicle break-in on Kent Street.

WOODSTOCK - One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after an assault on Sunday morning. 

The man was asleep in his apartment at Blossom Park when he was hit with a blunt object. A man and a woman fled the scene. 

Police located the two suspects on Monday and charged a 33 year old woman from Woodstock, and 27 year old Jordan McNeil of Brantford. Police did not release the woman's name.

They were both charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, break and enter and McNeil was also charged with fail to comply with a probation order.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are investigating after someone attempted to break into a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck over the long weekend on Kent Street.

The window to the truck was broken to gain access.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is investigating after a black and yellow Firman generator was stolen from a shed in the area of Victoria Street North near George Street on Sunday night.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are investigating a case of mischief against a local business.

Someone threw a coffee mug to the window of a store in the area of Norwich Avenue near Alice Street on Monday around 3:00 am.

WOODSTOCK - The Brompton Park entrance sign was targeted with graffiti on Monday night.

The suspect is a white woman in her late teens, standing at about 5'0. She had dirty blonde/brunette coloured hair half up and was wearing ripped black pants, a purple shirt and carrying a black backpack with a circle emblem.

The suspect was with two other people, a white woman about 5'6 with dark hair and blonde in it, wearing yellow pants and a black cropped tank top as well as a white male, approximately 5’11” with brown curly hair and wearing black pants, a black shirt and a black hat.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock police arrested a 57 year old man with impaired driving early Tuesday morning.

Police pulled the vehicle over for driving dangerously on Dundas street around 1:30 a.m. Officers determined the driver was impaired and arrested the man.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police conducted R.I.D.E programs throughout the city over the weekend. 

Police are pleased to report that of the 352 vehicles stopped, no one was found to be impaired, but six warnings for Highway Traffic Act offences were given.
