Why Walk?
Canadians are living longer and age is the biggest risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Across the country, 564,000 Canadians are living with dementia. By 2031 (just 11 years away), this figure is expected to rise to 937,000, an increase of 66 per cent.
We still don’t understand the causes. And we have yet to find a cure.
By walking you can be part of the solution. You can honour the memory of those who are no longer with us and support our work to help people who have dementia now, live well.
